The Gayang Village is home to the Bajau tribe, one of Sabah’s indigenous communities, and staying here is the best way to experience and observe their lifestyles, which can be a fascinating experience as they still hold on strongly to their traditional values. Traditional food, rice wine, arts and crafts, traditional fishing and ploughing the paddy fields are the order of the day, as well as other aspects of village life. The village is located by the river, just 40 minutes away from the capital city of Kota Kinabalu.
