Borneo World Heritage

2 Days 1 Night from MYR 640

Langs Cave and Deer Cave:
Also known as ‘Bat Cave’, Deer Cave is arguably the world’s largest cave passage, where an underground rive once flowed. A path guides you in and winds its way around the cave, following the natural contours of the cave floor, and eventually leads to the cave’s ‘Garden of Eden’, where a hole in the cave’s roof lets in a shaft of sunlight, resulting in a spot of thriving green vegetation in the cave. The Deer Cave is also well-known for its ‘profile’ of Abraham Lincoln guarding the southern entrance of the cave, a result of rock formations on the cave’s walls. Langs Cave is smaller in size, but has an impressive collection of stalactites and stalagmites in various shapes, sizes and colours. A 3-kilometre raised plank leads to these caves from Mulu National Park’s Headquarters, and a bat observatory platform is available near Deer Cave’s entrance, where a spectacular ‘black-cloud’ formation of bats flying out of the cave can be seen between 5 – 7 p.m.

Clearwater Cave & Wind Cave:
Measuring approximately 107 kilometres, Clearwater Cave is Asia's longest cave. It has its own subterranean river; a plank from the riverbank leads to the entrance of Wind Cave, which is essentially part of the Clearwater Cave system. These caves have an impressive cluster of rock formations consisting of stalactites, stalagmites, flowrocks, helitites and rock corals. With its underground river and fascinating rock formations, Clearwater Cave makes for an interesting cave to explore. 200 stone steps lead to the entrance of the cave, and at the end of the tour, to get down to the picnic area, one needs to descend a set of steps where a crystal-clear pool filled with water flowing out from the cave lies at the base, in which one can take a refreshing dip. Alternatively, one can opt to just sit back and relax on one of the many picnic benches scattered around the area to admire the lush scenery and watch colourful butterflies fluttering around the area.
