Constituting the main entrance point for the summit trail that leads to Mount Kinabalu, Kinabalu Park is located at 1,585 metres above sea level and features an unparalleled ecosystem that is home to some rare and endangered species. It is said to have one of the world’s richest flora collections, from alpine meadow plants to coniferous forests. Granted a World Heritage status by UNESCO in 2000, the park covers a staggering area of 754 square metres, which is essentially bigger than Singapore. The park comes complete with visitor facilities which include accommodation, restaurants and exhibit centres, making it a popular getaway for folks wishing to escape from the manic lifestyle of the city.

Day 01
0830 hrs
KOTA KINABALU - KINABALU PARK (OVERNIGHT) (L/D)
Pick-up from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu and drive into the foothills of Mount Kinabalu. Weather conditions permitting, you get to witness a breathtaking view of Mount Kinabalu from Nabalu, a local market and the tour’s first stop. Then head for the Mesilau Plateau, which offers some interesting 4x4 challenges, especially when it rains. Break for lunch at Poring Hot Springs where you can sit back and relax in the nature’s spa. Stay overnight at Poring Hostel.
Day 02
0830 hrs
KINABALU PARK - TAMBUNAN (OVERNIGHT) (B/L/D)
Depart for Tambunan through the back-roads, where lush jungles, local Dusun villages and scenic landscapes await you. Stay overnight at a hostel/chalet.
Day 03
0830 hrs
TAMBUNAN - TENOM - KOTA KINABALU (B/L/D)
After breakfast, continue on sealed roads towards Keninigau crossing Crocker Range to the plains of Kimanis. Break for lunch in Beaufort before heading to Klias Wetlands to participate in a river safari adventure. After dinner, leave for Kota Kinabalu, with expected arrival time around 10 p.m.
