Langkawi is the site of some of the most historic sights along with sweeping views of the ocean. This oasis of the seas is chock-a-block with gorgeous islets with pristine beaches and sparkling blue waters. However perfection can be a bit tiring so why not take a day off from the beaches and discover some of Langkawi’s mainstream attractions with the Langkawi Discovery Day Tour.
The tour kicks off with a visit to Eagle Square which is one of the most well-known familiar sights in Langkawi. A sprawling 19-acre landmark comprising the legendary eagle statue – a magnificent bronze eagle statue clearly visible from the air or sea of Langkawi – as well as kiosk vendors selling souvenirs and a duty-free shopping pavilion nearby, this area of Langkawi is one of its busiest.
Next take a trip to the Galleria Perdana – a museum that is primarily homage to Malaysia's fourth Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir featuring priceless artefacts that signify his service to the country. Next get a bird’s eye view of the island as you take an exhilarating cable car ride from the foot of the Oriental Village to its peak. This ride will let you see panoramic vistas of the surroundings forests, the Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells) waterfalls as well as sweeping views of the sea along with the islands of Tarutao, Ko Adang and Ko Lipeh in Thailand. The ground station for the Langkawi Cable Car is located beside a gorgeous lake with the rolling mountain range in the background and the village itself has an array of entertaining activities to engage in.
Finally have splashing good time at Underwater World – Malaysia’s best man-made tourist attraction and one of the biggest aquatic and fresh water aquaria in South East Asia. Take a walk through its colossal 15-meter long walk-through tunnel – containing 500,000 litres of seawater – which houses a variety of sea creatures including the Giant Green Turtle.
